Literature in your mailbox
Every month, La Lettre Zola arrives in your mailbox: an award-winning author, a true story, a social issue, 50 pages!
Some thirty award-winning young novelists get involved and launch a new print publication. A unique magazine, by subscription and by post, to tell the story of French society in the form of true stories. So we needed a design that would illustrate the interweaving of the press and publishing worlds: a book-in-an-envelope! Or rather, an envelope that unfolds to form a book.
La Lettre Zola is the brainchild of two twenty-nine-year-old childhood friends, Louis Vendel and Manor Askenazi. Gradually, a kind of think tank, or authors’ collective, came together to make the idea a reality. Mathieu Palain, Blandine… then Maria Larrea, Abigail Assor, and all the others, gradually joined this wonderful adventure. These authors are between 25 and 40 years old, they live in the four corners of France, they come from different publishing houses, they don’t necessarily share the same ideas… However, they have come together to form a fresh and enthusiastic team, offering a generational perspective on the issues of our time.
La Lettre Zola gives you the time to delve deeper into each author’s subjects, to get to grips with the complexity of the everyday men and women who make up their characters. Explore a new writing format: true stories of around 50 pages, somewhere between reportage, short story and book. To make reading about the world around us a pleasure. Taking the field, keeping the style, and a free pen!
