L’Iceberg, a committed independent magazine
L’Iceberg is an independent, 136-page, advertising-free quarterly magazine that offers a counter-current reading of the media hype. At the crossroads of science, art and commitment, it offers a plural and sensitive look at the major challenges of our time. Each issue is conceived as a slow, dense journey, guided by the desire to understand in depth what shapes the contemporary world.
Conceived as a carefully-crafted, enduring editorial object, the magazine makes us see and think through a variety of formats: in-depth investigations, immersive reports, personal accounts, artistic creations, interviews with singular voices, portfolios, illustrations and infographics. L’Iceberg values cross-cutting approaches, grounded narratives and sensitive expressions, to better explore the complexity of ecological, social and cultural issues.
Driven by a free and committed editorial line, L’Iceberg seeks to decompartmentalize disciplines, link knowledge, and put expertise and experience into dialogue. It gives pride of place to emotion, poetry and intuition, without ever compromising on rigor or quality of information. It speaks as much to the intellect as to the imagination.
In contrast to simplistic, anxiety-inducing approaches, each issue of L’Iceberg plunges readers into the heart of an essential theme, explored in all its richness through a range of interviews, surveys, reports and analyses. This intellectual exploration is accompanied by demanding visual work: illustrations, computer graphics, photographs and comic strips stimulate the imagination and fuel wonder. This editorial approach met with great enthusiasm: 1309 people supported the launch campaign, which has now been successfully completed. Among the many responses received, some perfectly sum up the spirit of the magazine: “Unique, complete, brilliant and magnificent”, “A magazine as beautiful as it is necessary”, or “Intelligent in its texts, graphics, photos, typos… and full of information! One teacher even confided in us: “Bravo, a quality magazine in both form and content. I’ll be using it in my classes next year”. These testimonials confirm that L’Iceberg has found its place as an independent, demanding and deeply inspiring medium.
